How easy is it to make a bear?

It is very simple to make a Be My Bear ted. Our teddy bears are all pre-sewn and have a hole in the back through which the bear is stuffed. Once the children (or adults!) have performed the hug-ability test, and are happy with how their bear feels, just zip up the bear using our special one-way zipper closure and remove the thread.

How long does a Be My Bear party last?

Allow two hours for a party to include the birthday tea. The actual stuffing of the bears, the wish star ceremony and the filling in of the birth certificates will take approx three quarters of an hour. We provide you with plenty of ideas for bear related games and activities to fill the remaining time, allowing half an hour for the teddy bear picnic tea. We suggest the children let off steam at the start of the party with a treasure hunt where they search for the bears they are going to make. Then settle them in a circle on the floor or around a table for the ceremonial stuffing! Once the bears are made you could play a couple of our recommended games before they sit down again to fill out the birth certificates. If you have chosen to decorate T-shirts or purchased voice boxes for the children to record their own message, there may not be time for much else!

Is there any sewing involved?

No, there is no sewing involved. All our kits come pre-sewn with a hole in the back through which there are stuffed. This is secured with a special one-way zipper closure.

What is included in the kit?

All our teddy/animal kits contain the animal of your choice in either 8 inch, 12 inch, or 15-17 inch skin, stuffing, a make a wish star, deluxe carry bag, birth certificate, ideas for party games and full instructions. Our deluxe kits comes with all the above plus a voice box and T-shirt. If you are ordering more than 5 kits there is also a free packet of 6 fabric pens; with 10 or more you get the pens and a free outfit.

Are invitations included?

Yes invitations are included in the price of the kit and these can be sent out in advance if required. Otherwise they will be included in the pack if you have ticked the invitation request box.

Can I run a Be My Bear party myself?

It is very simple to run a Be My Bear party yourself. It can be held at home, or in a community centre or church hall. No mess apart from the stuffing which is easily swept up. Can I have a party organiser to run it for me ?

We have party organisers in many parts of the country, some of whom are listed on our website. Otherwise call or e-mail us for a list of organisers who may be able to run the party for you. They all operate independently and offer different packages and different rates, so you would need to speak to them directly for pricing etc.

What is the age range for a Be My Bear party ?

Children of all ages enjoy making a bear (adults as well!) Our bears and animals are suitable for children aged three and upwards but if you are organising a party we recommend an age of four and upwards. If you view our testimonials and photographs you will see that we cater for all ages from six to sixty! and tens to tens. Everyone loves a bear!

Can you mix and match the bears and animals in a party order ?

Yes you can choose different bears and animals and if you are buying ten or more of the bears which are in our discounted categories you will get the price reduction whether you choose the same bears or a mix of different animals.

How long will it take for my order to arrive?

We try and process orders within three days and we use a next day delivery courier service for the larger orders. Allow a few extra days before your event as you don't want the bears arriving at the same time as your guests!

Returns

We gladly accept returns for exchange or refund within 30 days. Please save your receipt.
We will refund any unused bears (see our terms and conditions page) provided they are in a saleable condition and have all the component parts included in the return. We suggest you send this on a signed for basis to ensure that it arrives back in our warehouse. If the number of bears returned are fewer than the discounted 10, the higher price will apply.

Do you recommend buying the same bear for party guests or different ones?

We get asked this question so many times and are never quite sure how to answer it. Some party hosts give their guests a choice, some choose the same bear to avoid arguments and others buy a mix of bears which they allocate to the children as part of a game either a treasure hunt with the children making up the bear they find or a raffle style draw by numbering each bear or animal. Good luck whatever you decide to do!

How safe is the product?

We take great care to assure our product safety and quality. Our products comply with EN71 European standards (parts 1, 2, 3,) where we test the mechanical and physical properties, flammability and migration of certain elements. We always use independent quality control companies to test and evaluate our products. All products carry the CE label and are suitable for children over three years of age. Once stuffed, the bear/animal is sealed with a zipper closure and we recommend that adults ensure that the zip is secure and the thread removed before the child takes the bear away. Our bears and animals are surface washable.
